Team Bonding over Beer tasting with Vanderbilt’s 16 Tap Beers... Check out the Best!!
I recently attended Destination Hotels & Resorts 8th annual sales conference held at the Hamilton Park Hotel & Conference Center in Florham Park, NJ where over 200 sales professionals gathered for three days. Personally, it was my 7th conference and they keep getting better and better each year. Not to mention, Hamilton Park delivered an amazing meeting experience!
During the information packed conference, the national sales managers broke out into their respective “Affinity Teams”. Affinity teams are a great concept within Destination Hotels & Resort. These teams focus on key segments of the meetings industry making the Destination Hotels & Resorts sales managers true experts in their assigned field. Within each team, information is shared between members on mutual accounts, trends in the industry and ways to better partner with our key clients. While we did get a lot accomplished during the sales conference, the Food and Beverage Affinity team, also threw in a little fun! Who wouldn’t like a blind taste of some of the best beers around? After all, beverage is part of our specialty.
The Food and Beverage Affinity team took advantage of the 16 tap beers in Vanderbilt’s Bar & Lounge, a popular New Jersey sport lounge within Hamilton Park Hotel. We all participated in a blind beer tasting of eight of the bartender’s (John Fernicola) favorites. We tried Duvel, Magic Hat, Sierra Nevada, Brooklyn Lager, Sam Adams Seasonal, Yeungling, Smithwicks and Blue Moon. Interestingly enough, even with the team members coming from various parts of the country, the majority of the team agreed on the top choices - Yeungling, Sam Adams Seasonal and a tie between Smithwicks and Sierra Nevada!
Not only did our group beer tasting offer up a good time, it was a great bonding activity for the Food and Beverage Affinity team and can be for your next event too.
