The tastefully appointed facilities include the 5,550 square foot Mary Duke Ballroom for larger parties up to 350 people, the Biddle Mansion, which can accommodate parties of up to 200 guests, and the stately King Mansion for smaller parties of up to 70 guests. Wedding catering is prepared under the direction of internationally acclaimed Chef Paul Sant, who was recently awarded the USA Culinary Excellence Medal for hotel chefs. Guests enjoy an open bar, a choice of passed hot and cold hors d'oeuvres, a displayed hors d'oeuvres tables and stations with the following choices: a Mediterranean tapas bar, antipasto display, gulf shrimp provencal, carved turkey and strip loin, raw bar, sushi and sashimi. A wide selection of fish, chicken and beef main courses are available, all prepared under the watchful eye of Chef Paul. Exquisitely decorated cakes are also provided, reflecting the tastes of the bridal couple.
In-house wedding coordination services are provided to help the bride and groom in their planning, vendor selection, floral choices and room décor. The coordinator is also available on the day of the wedding to receive the bridal party and guests and direct the start of the reception. For couples holding their ceremony at Tarrytown House, the coordinator also provides on-site direction of the ceremony rehearsal and guidance before and during the ceremony itself.
Restoration work during the winter of 2005-06 is bringing the property back to its historic glory. Restoration of the Biddle Mansion includes refurbishing the original hardwood and marble floors in the lobby, drawing room and the garden room. Restoration in the Winter Palace is returning the room to its original 1987 design with new carpeting throughout. Complete restoration of the King Mansion is bringing guest rooms and public rooms back to the Georgian splendor of another age.
The 209 spacious and comfortable sleeping rooms at Tarrytown House are all being restored so as to provide guests with the feeling that they are staying in a mansion for the weekend. The Presidential Suite, which features a terrace that overlooks the Hudson River, three junior suites and ten beautifully appointed VIP rooms, provide plenty of choices for overnight guests. All the restored guest rooms feature new carpeting, furniture, drapes, pillow top beds, comforters, newly appointed marble bathrooms, flat screen TV's and Internet access.
